Orientation Daaaaaay
This has been the loooongest orientation daaaay I’ve attended thus far! The call time was at 8am but it started a little before 9am (talk about Filipino time).
I appreciate how the Student Council and the college admin organized this event which not only “oriented” us to CM’s culture but also invited the heads of several university departments to orient us as well with the general university rules. The first part of the orientation, which was until before lunch, involved the serious matters we need to take note of if we’re planning (or if we’d be lucky) to stay in PLM CM until we graduate.

The second part of the orientation was the presentation of the different college organizations. Though I’m not particularly biased to one, we stayed on and listened to whatever the representatives had to tell.
Last week, one org/sorority gave me an invitation to attend their special orientation. I wasn’t sure if I’d go.. and it was only this afternoon when I decided to give it a try. It’s just an orientation anyway and I may still choose not to join after that.
Yep, I attended the MUS orientation after the orgs orientation. One part of me didn’t want to go since I haven’t really made up my mind yet but their tactics sure do work. Not only did they “corner” me, they even escorted me ‘til we were grouped with the other members and their fishes in bait (a.k.a. us freshmen prospects).
We had dinner at Max’s. Members of MUS who are already clerks, interns, and residents also attended the orientation and some even gave testimonials of how MUS helped them be what they are now (the typical drama, etc). They also gave us vague hints of what we’d be expecting to do for the initiation process.
Of course I went with Maan. We both didn’t fill up the form yet ‘cause we need to ask permission from our parents first HAHA But I think, if I want to join a sorority, this is the better one. The other sorority, as I’ve heard, has many issues.. or at least their frat tie-up.

I’m really tired now. The orientation ended around 8pm.. and I went straight to watch Gino’s basketball game. It’s the last of this season that I could watch so I went despite this tiredness. Too bad they lost.. badly.
